Forty years ago, on 26 January 1985, FC Monaco took to the pitch for the first time at its new home, the Stade Louis II. Just a day after the inauguration by Prince Rainier III, the stadium witnessed a high-profile debut. The Red and Whites scored a confident 3-0 victory over the Lance team. Bernard Zhenghini scored the first historic goal from a free-kick before Philippe Anziani quickly doubled the lead.
