Start of winter sales in Monaco
January is traditionally a month of sales, which provides the perfect opportunity to update your wardrobe. This year, Monaco was ahead of its neighbors by starting sales on Tuesday, January 2, several days earlier than in France, where they start on Wednesday, January 10. UCAM Chairman Alexandre Pasta also notes that Monaco has a “slight advantage” over France in that sales start earlier and end later. In the Principality, special offers will be available until February 15, while in France the sales season ends on February 6.
“Mamma Mia!” back to Monaco
From 9 to 13 October 2024, the Grimaldi Forum will host six special performances of the musical Mamma Mia! as part of his international tour. The musical in its original version with French subtitles will allow the audience to sing the most famous ABBA hits in chorus.
«Mamma Mia!» was presented in 1999 in London’s West End, after which it began to enjoy real worldwide success. The musical was first presented in Monaco in 2008 and today celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Parade of the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo
On Saturday, January 13, a circus festival took place in Monaco. On the opening day, the artists paraded through the streets of Monaco to the princely palace. They then gave an hour-long performance in front of a large audience. Music, acrobats and animals are an impressive spectacle for adults and children. The princely family was present at the performance in full. In the company of their mother, Princess Charlene, Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella greeted the elephants. Prince Albert II encouraged the artists and started the performance. The president of the festival, Princess Stéphanie, was also present in the front row along with her children Louis Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb.
Birthday of Princess Charlene
On Thursday, January 25, Princess Charlene celebrated her 46th birthday. Together with Prince Albert II and their children, Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, Charlene celebrated the occasion at the La Condamine market by cutting a magnificent cake. The Princess is an integral part of the Monagasque community. For more than ten years, the Princess Foundation has been holding large-scale events in forty different countries around the world. Recently, another Christmas ball was held in aid of the Foundation at the prestigious Hôtel de Paris, during which an impressive amount of 150,000 euros was collected.
Two rooms of the Hôtel de Paris were included in the list of the most beautiful in the world
The American magazines Elite Traveler and Robb Report recognized the Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III suites at the Hôtel de Paris as one of the most luxurious hotel rooms in the world. The Prince Rainier III Suite was included in the top 100 according to Elite Traveler. The Princess Grace Suite entered the Robb Report top 50, ranking 15th. The Prince Rainier III Suite has an area of 830 sq. m, located on the roof of the Hôtel de Paris, there are two bedrooms, a terrace of 350 sq. m. m and a heated swimming pool. Suite named after Princess Grace with an area of 983 sq. m (on two floors) also has two bedrooms, as well as a private pool and jacuzzi.
Wine museum in the cellars of the Hôtel de Paris
The huge wine cellars of the Hôtel de Paris will be renovated along with the restaurant. Stéphane Valery also confirmed the creation of a museum that will “preserve and showcase this amazing heritage.” The reconstruction will be part of a series of celebrations planned for April. After all, it was 150 years ago, in 1874, that Marie Blanc, the widow of François Blanc, succeeded her husband as head of SBM and ordered the creation of large cellars at the Hôtel de Paris. The creators promise that she will personally greet museum visitors.
