The Opera has invited big names in the opera world such as Roberto Alagna and Pretty Yende.

The Monte-Carlo Opera unveiled its new opera season on Wednesday 29 May, with diversity and celebration as its focus. Music lovers will be able to enjoy a full programme, including timeless classics and bolder contemporary creations from October 30, 2024 until March 27, 2025.

For the third consecutive season, Cecilia Bartoli, artistic director of the Monte-Carlo Opera, has put her talent and passion into creating a programme that will appeal to a wide audience.

Mozart fans are in for a treat with two major productions: Don Giovanni and La Clemenza di Tito. Wagner’s Rhinegold and Tristan and Isolde, will enable the audience to explore different musical worlds.

Highlights of the season include soprano Pretty Yende, who will make her debut at the Monte Carlo Opera as Magda in Puccini’s La Rondine. The audience will also have the pleasure of welcoming tenor Roberto Alagna back to Monaco in Tosca.

This summer, residents and visitors to the Principality will see a spectacular spectacle in the night sky. Monaco will organise a spectacular drone show and fireworks display.

On 9 August at 22:00, more than 800 drones will take to the skies and put on an unforgettable performance. The theme of the show is kept secret by the city authorities. A better vantage point will be Monaco’s port of Hercule.

UPAINT Monaco 2024, the renowned street art festival, is ready to make its mark on the Principality of Monaco once again.

From 7 to 10 June, the Larvotto promenade will be transformed into a giant open-air gallery. The works of 12 street artists from around the world will be on display. Contemporary artists are inspired by nature and harmony with the environment. These are the main themes of the festival.

On the 1st of June from 21:00 to 22:30 The Zenmenn will rock at La Note Bleue Summer Festival. The musicians will immerse the audience in a mystical atmosphere on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Delicate sounds of harp and languid guitar will take you on a journey to the Balearic Islands. The Zenmenn take inspiration from different musical directions and create sunny and bright compositions.

From 30 May to 2 June, anyone can see a free production of ‘Ce qui reste d’un amour’ (‘What’s left of love’) at the Muses Theatre.

The romantic comedy tells the story of a lovelorn musician Hugo and a girl actress named Alice. Exactly one year after their sudden break-up, Alice appears at Hugo’s house in the middle of the night… What is left of their former feelings and is love alive in their hearts?

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) made history on Sunday, winning the 81st Monaco Grand Prix hands down! The Monegasque driver was warmly congratulated by the Princely Couple on his first home win.

What an emotional day for Monaco on Sunday!! Charles Leclerc consolidated his pole position from the previous day  to stand on the top step of the podium in front of an ecstatic crowd! After several disappointments and a feeling of unfinished business in the Principality in previous years, the local boy finally put an end to his run of bad luck on his bogey track.

On 31 May from 21:00 to 22:30, Carlos Lopez plays at La Note Bleue on Larvotto Beach.

Lopez’s work is a unique blend of Afro-pop, soul, jazz and RnB. His compositions are filled with sunshine and joy, and his charismatic style of performance will not leave the audience indifferent!

Following the success of the 2023 edition, the ‘Billionaire’ evenings, created by Flavio Briatore, are back at the Sporting Monte-Carlo’s Salle des Etoiles for 25 ultra-festive nights.

From 22 July until 21 August, the Monegasque ‘mecca’ will host extravagant shows combining fine dining, artistic performances and high-end entertainment. The formula has already been ‘tested and approved’ in the Italian entrepreneur’s restaurants, and is likely to make a lasting impression on the audience.

The announcement comes after an agreement between the Société des Bains de Mer and Flavio Briatore’s Majestas group. The Monegasque resident and Stéphane Valeri, Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, signed off on their renewed partnership on Friday 17 May.

On 25 May, the closing ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival will take place at the Palais des Festivals on the Croisette.

It will be the evening of the final red carpet, after which the winners of the nominations will be announced on stage and the main awards in the Main Competition, Un Certain Regard and Camera d’Or categories will be handed out.

Since 1946, the festival has been showcasing the best films from around the world and awarding the best films with the prestigious Palme d’Or.
