Today we have a unique Playboy bunny, international DJ and music producer ElateD Joy — the resident on the radio in Dubai, big parties DJ, headliner at the opening of the EuroMotorFest in Romania, and one of the most technically skilled female DJs on the planet. During her performances, she provides a true spectacle with laser beams and other glowing or simply bright props and costumes.
Nice to meet you. Tell us how you fell into DJing?
All my youth I went to clubs and I loved to dance. Music sounds passed through my body and it was difficult to stop. But at one unfortunate moment, at basketball training, I broke my back. I had been bedridden for half a year and only moved around in a wheelchair. The diagnoses were not comforting, and throught my life was over for me. I didn’t know how to carry on and why. But only music helped me to move, even lying in bed. Especially I liked the clips of the Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, Ciara. I tried to move like them; it looked funny when you’re in bed, and can only twitch.
What a terrible story, but how did you manage to cope? You’re not in a wheelchair now?
The dream of performing, manifesting myself, helped me not to give up. But it was complicated by the fact that I was very shy; I was bullied at school, called names. I never felt pretty.
I had to overcome the fear of performing, stop being timid, lose 30 kg, learn to mix songs and create my own tracks to come out on a big stage, and give people joy and remind everyone that there is ElateD Joy inside of us. This is my mission.

What are your nearest creative plans?
Very recently, my authorship tracks were taken to a major label, and I am very inspired to create new ones. Tracks are in the mainstage style (festival format), however I create music and play a wide range of styles such as EDM, afro-, retro-, tribal-, ethno-, and funky-house. Also I dream of performing all over the world in the best clubs and big festivals like Tomorrowland, Untold, Neversea, Parookaville, but so far, I have not had enough connections. I also dream of collaborations with musicians such as Ciara, Afrojack, Djs from Mars, and to make huge laser/lights show in a big city with a team of professional engineers.
