The richest water element has since ancient times been associated by people with incredible power that harbors an immutable energy. Iuliia Malashenko aka Lady N desire to connect with inner beauty and reflect it on the outside, and thus be able to convey a message or feeling to whoever is looking at it. It’s like parallel worlds. When you dive under the water, you get into another reality, disconnect from the daily hustle and bustle and just enjoy the moment.
Iuliia, tell us about your experience of underwater photography?
— Underwater photo shoot is an experiment that is worth it. Water is a constant companion of modern culture, especially in the art of photography. It is not easy to make up your mind for such a photo shoot, it will be to the liking of creative individuals who feel these ethereal environments very subtly and are ready to see themselves in a completely new, unusual for the average person, perspective. It is so inspiring and energizing that you want to share invisible atoms of these emotions again and again.
What do you think is the uniqueness of underwater photography in world culture?
— Underwater photography is developing well globally, and commercially too. It allows you to surprise even the most sophisticated viewer, because the water element opens up completely new possibilities in photography. A model underwater feels completely different than on land. Moreover, the process of shooting itself is so exciting and unpredictable that even within one location you can get more than a hundred different variants of the frame. One important aspect is the ability to ignore the role imposed by society. That’s why I think this kind of art form is really important.
What do you enjoy most about modeling?
— I just want to do what I feel passionate about — work that I enjoy. If I didn’t have that feeling, I wouldn’t be doing it. What feelings did you want to convey by participating in this project? Tenderness, feeling of freedom and security. We know that water can do a lot of things, including recovery of human organism. I sincerely believe in miracles and know only one truth — love.
