In this issue of Playboy we will talk to an extraordinary and very talented person — a professional model and American film actress, as well as a journalist and since 2024 — casting director of the LA Fashion Show — Lil Safonova
— Tell me, how do you manage to do everything?
— This is my favorite question. I actually don’t (laughs) well, in fact, I just live according to a schedule in a strict schedule, like a commander-in-chief at war.
— Do you have time for a personal life?
— In the position and opportunities that I find myself in now, it would be extremely stupid to waste time on a personal life / relationships, etc. Now every minute counts, you can even say that we are at the beginning of something very big and large-scale. Therefore, I do not even think about my personal life, it is definitely not a priority. I think it can wait until quieter and calmer times.
— You are very successful, you have such a busy schedule and so many filmings, tell me how to become a successful model and actress?
— I am not a successful model or actress, I think this question should be asked to Margot Robbie and Irina Shayk. But who knows? Maybe in 5-10 years? I will grow up a little and find out what it is like, then I will tell you.
— Everyone is interested in how you became a casting director of The LA Fashion Show? It was a great success!
— The thing is that I had already been a casting director at various shows and events in the past, so I have experience. I had thought about doing a fashion show before. I even had negotiations on this matter with one fashion show in San Francisco and in Kyiv (Ukraine) before the war. Then everything happened suddenly. I came to the casting as a model, but I passed the casting very successfully and the organizers immediately took me as a «good» model and I walked for many shows. Eventually it became known to the show’s producer, Olga that I also have a lot of professional experience; in fact I have been working in media for almost 25 years. I bring a lot of experience to the show as a model, an actress, and a journalist / TV presenter. In general, I know a lot about fashion and I have a professional eye. At this point Olga called me and offered me the job of casting director. Olga said that they wanted a girl who looks like a great model in terms of appearance and in her opinion, I fit the role. That’s how it happened! I am very grateful to them for everything they do.
— You are an actress, and who is your favorite actor?
— Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean)
— And which of the actors, celebrities do you like as a man?
— Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes. I never liked classic playboys, guys with muscles and all these Kens of Los Angeles. I like smart, even nerds, I like serious men but with a sense of humor, with whom you can talk about politics, history, art, science. This is what excites me.
— Is Rowan Atkinson like that in your opinion?
— Oh yeah, only a smart person can so skillfully portray a moron
— Would you pose for video/film completely naked?
— Yes, why not? If they film it beautifully, not everyone can do it. I would not do porn, but nudity if the scene calls for it, no problem.
