Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
July 1–6
At the beginning of July, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge will be held for the eleventh time in the Principality, organized by the Yacht Club of Monaco with the assistance of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The goal of the show is to showcase models of boats and motorboats that use energy sources that reduce their impact on the environment (solar energy, hydrogen, electricity and other renewable energy sources). The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, which will be held in the presence of the Prince of Monaco, will involve 46 teams from 25 countries. Recently, a floating pontoon from SBM Offshore with an environmentally friendly hydrogen generator, developed specifically for the upcoming competition, was presented at the port of Hercule. It will allow it to produce its own hydrogen, giving ships the energy to recharge.
Jumping International de Monte-Carlo
July 4–6
The International Show Jumping Tournament in Monte Carlo, one of the stages of the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour, takes place every year five weeks after the Formula 1 Grand Prix and is considered one of the most difficult in the world due to its extremely narrow, compact and full field turns (the scope of the jumps is designed to cover the entire arena). Such limited conditions require the highest skill from athletes. The Monte Carlo International Show Jumping Tournament is the third most important sporting event in the Principality after the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. The honorary president of the tournament is Charlotte Casiraghi.
The Monaco leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour is fundamentally different from the rest. Every year, for the tournament, stables for horses and boxes for spectators are installed in the area of the port of Hercule and an arena is equipped, for which tons of special sand are imported.
