On 12 December, the Principality was officially named World Capital of Sport. Monaco was crowned ‘World Capital of Sport 2025’ at the annual gala held at the European Parliament in Brussels. The flag of the European Federation of Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES) was presented to Monaco’s ambassador to Belgium, Frédéric Labarrere.
The Principality has replaced last year’s sports capital Sofia (Bulgaria). This title demonstrates the State’s commitment to the development of sport both locally and internationally.
