Fight of champions

On November 4, four intense fights took place in the Casino de Monte Carlo arena as part of Matchroom Boxing. The sports evening was attended by famous world-class coaches, as well as Louis Ducruet and his wife Maria. Joe Cordina entered the ring against American boxer Edward Vasquez and defended his IBF super lightweight title. The boxing match lasted 12 rounds. IBF world champion in flyweight, South African Siwenati Nontshinga lost by knockout to Mexican Adrian Curiel. In the welterweight division, French Olympic medalist Souleymane Sissoko defended his WBC Silver belt from Mexico’s Isayas Lucero.

 Twinning celebration with the city of Dolceacqua

On November 3, official events were held in Monaco in honor of the twinning with the Italian city of Dolceacqua. The first part began early in the morning at the town hall. The orchestra performed the anthems of Italy and Monaco. Next, Prince Albert II, the mayor of the city Georges Marsan, a member of the municipal council, Fulvio Gazzola, the mayor of Dolceacqua and representatives of the highest authorities of Monaco signed an oath of twinning. After which the guests of the ceremony were treated to an official reception at the Princely Palace. The first lady of Monaco, Princess Charlene, took part in it. At the reception, the princely couple accepted the Act of Twinning of 2023, the original oath of allegiance dated 1523, as well as a unique postage stamp issued in Monaco.

 No Finish Line Charity Run

On November 11, the next series of the No Finish Line race started in Monaco. Experienced athletes and amateurs demonstrated active running and fast walking. Every kilometer of the route was displayed through a mobile application. For every step of the journey completed, Children & Future will donate 1 euro to support projects for sick and disadvantaged children. The races took place both at Espace Fontvieille and at outdoor sports fields near Monaco.

Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses

A luxurious evening took place on November 4 in the magnificent Empire Room at the Hôtel de Paris. Participants in the event wore ballroom attire, and part of the funds raised will go to the Princess Grace Foundation. On the occasion of this charity reception, organized by Noble Monte-Carlo in partnership with the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mers, the Golden Oscar La Voix d’Or was awarded to Vittorio Grigolo. The world-famous tenor took part in the opening ceremony along with soprano Delia Grace Noble, accompanied by the orchestra of the French Republican Guard.

The legendary Café de Paris has opened its doors again

On Tuesday 14 November, after extensive refurbishment, the famous Café de Paris Monte-Carlo reopened to the public. The 500-seat restaurant was completely full by lunchtime, with many guests eagerly awaiting their turn. The renovation, carried out by David Collins Design and Architecture, has radically transformed the interior, but retains some of the original features. Glass showcases decorated with zodiac signs attracted particular attention. The updated version of the restaurant showcases the rich culinary traditions of France with Mediterranean influences, such as the traditional pissaladiere onion tart, Monegasque barbajouans and a superb salad nicoise.

 The rhythm of jazz at the Hotel Métropole
