Back to the past: photo exhibition with archival photographs of Monaco

From September 30 to October 6, Jean-Pierre Debernardi presents the exhibition “Monaco of the Past” (“Monaco d’Autrefois”) at l’Espace Leo Ferre.
The exhibition contains more than 30 retro photographs taken by Jean-Pierre’s grandfather about a hundred years ago. It took more than 3 years to bring back to life the 300 photographic plates bequeathed by his father. The quality of the pictures was improved using a computer. The photographs depict landscapes and urban landscapes from centuries ago, as well as the city’s inhabitants.

Show STOMP

From October 6 to 8, the enchanting show STOMP will open for the first time at the Monte Carlo Opera. More than 15 million spectators around the world have already been mesmerized by the frantic rhythm of the troupe.
STOMP breaks the usual ideas about music and creates real magic of sounds, playing on the most ordinary household objects: pots, carts, lids. All this is complemented by dynamic dances and topical jokes.

54th International Floristry Competition

On October 7 and 8, the Riva Gallery hosted the International Florist Competition, the theme of which was circus culture. Experts from all over Europe created enchanting flower compositions in the shape of aerial tightrope walkers, gymnasts, clowns and circus animals. Also in the conference hall of the Yacht Club, special master classes were held: Stefano Anfossi “Orchids”, Armando Spayani “Lemons: from the beginnings to the present day”, Patrick Ayrault spoke about roses.
Princess Caroline, permanent president of the Garden Club of Monaco, presented the winners with gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as special awards such as the Princess Grace Prize of Monaco.

Culinary festival of star chefs of Monte Carlo

From September 29 to November 11, Monaco will host a festival for gourmet gourmets. In luxury restaurants of the principality, star chefs will create their masterpieces as part of the 3rd Monte Carlo Culinary Festival. In particular, on October 13 and 14, the Grill restaurant will host dinners from chef Dominique Laurie and English star Jason Atherton, and on October 27 and 28 at the Louis XV restaurant, Amaury Bouur from the Parisian restaurant Le Meurice will join his mentor Alain Ducasse for a dinner four hands.
The closing ceremony will take place on November 11 in the Empire Hall of the Hôtel de Paris.

“West Side Story” on stage in Monaco

On October 13, 14 and 15, West Side Story will perform on the Grimaldi Forum stage. The production about the confrontation between two New York street gangs and the love of a boy and a girl who are not destined to be together became the number one musical, and in 2021, Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation received several Oscar awards. One of the world’s main love stories will be translated into a new way: choreography by Jerome Robbins and music by Leonard Bernstein.

E-Rallye Monte-Carlo

From 18 to 22 October, 60 crews took part in the 7th Automobile Club de Monaco race with all-electric cars. Teams from 15 countries driving Tesla, BMW, Kia, Hyundai competed for the prestigious series cup. Participants covered more than 1,000 km from Casino Square to the Italian city of Dolceacqua. The route ran through the territory of Monaco, Italy and France. The Spaniards Eneko Conde and Lucas Sergnese took first place in the race, followed by the team of the Italian Guido Guerrini and the Pole Arthur Prusak, and the third step of the podium was taken by the Belgian crew: Bernard Heine and Valerie Piette.
