The Principality’s government has made an official announcement about the arrival of the Olympic Flame in Monaco. The flame is expected in the department of the Maritime Alps on 18 June.
The flame was ceremonially lit at the opening ceremony of the Games on 16 April. Before the 2024 Games, the Olympic Flame will visit all regions of France as part of a relay. The torch will pass through seven municipalities in the southern department: Villefranche-sur-Mer, Grasse, Cannes, Valberg, Antibes, La Colmiane-Valdeblore and Nice.
On 18 June at 14:15, the Olympic flame will leave Port Hercule, carried by six torchbearers, all the way to the Place du Princes’ Palace. The flame first travelled through the Principality of Monaco in 1968 ahead of the Winter Olympics in Grenoble. The torch is expected in Paris on 26 June.
